Hair Visions Salon & Spa, located at 120 Hunter Village Dr, Irmo, SC 29063, is the salon to check out this week. The full service salon and spa offers cuts, coloring , waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials and massage cupping. Cupping!? Yeah, I know I never heard of such a thing, until I went into Hair Visions two weeks ago. Massage Cupping is based on the common practice of Chinese cupping. The technique involves the use of various sizes of “cups” that “stimulates the skin by increasing circulation” thru a suction method. Massage Cupping can also help with fibromyalgia, sciatica, insomnia, chronic pain, and arthritis (to name a few).
Tatyana, Clinical Esthetician at Hair Visions, was happy to demonstrate what cupping was on Justine, fellow cosmetologist in the salon. Of course I had to try this out for myself, so Tatyana demonstrated the cupping technique on my hand and arm.
