Kaela, a PR executive, needed some style options for her chevron print a-line skirt she wants to wear to work this Summer. I gave her about seven ways to wear this skirt, and we only used 3 main colors.
The teal sleeveless blouse gives a different look and feel when worn with the traditional navy blazer versus the collar-less white jacket. However, the sleeveless blouse looks great alone, especially with the faux gem embellishments around the neckline. If she didn’t want to wear a jacket, she could always wear a cardigan in either navy, white or teal. I’m counting about 3 outfits here and when you add the three different cardigans = 6!
In the ‘white’ palette option, I thought Kaela should try a tailored white shirt without a belt for days she didn’t want her arms out. She could also switch things up by adding a wide belt to define her waist. However, for more corporate settings, I suggested she wear a simple white tank under her tailored white canvas jacket. I’m counting five outfits here! Running total is 11!
I actually prefer the white jacket with anything because the cut of it frames her figure so well. What do ya’ll think?
But of course, Kaela is a fan of the oxford shirt, so we tried the skirt with the belt and a teal oxford. I can see about 2 outfits from this look alone. New total of 13!
Which is your fave look? How would you wear your chevron print a-line skirt?
Kaela was gracious to let me know what she thought of our style session.
